Pattern along path quantity window bug

If you select components or bodies in pattern along path, it does not bring up the quantity window (as a cursor field or data input window field - I can't remember the name of this window sorry).

The workaround is to pull the allow slider first. Still a bug.

Related to this - can we have the quantity window drive the length please?

Hi @DDD9999 ,

Thank you for posting in the forum! I believe that's working as designed, and you need to click on the arrow or slider to switch between Quantity and Distance. It does not show both at the same time.

Also, at this time the quantity does not drive the length, but I recommend that you submit your idea to the Fusion IdeaStation forum, which is constantly monitored by developers and product managers, and is currently the most effective way to request a product enhancement:

Other forum users will have the opportunity to Vote or add Kudos to the Idea. Votes on an idea will increase the likelihood that an idea will be implemented.

I don't agree. As distance is not driven by quantity or vice-versa, you have to use both quantity and distance fields to generate the pattern on path. This is what happens once you select the object and path:

When you type a distance or pull the arrow, the quantity box appears. It is impossible to use this feature without the quantity box (or idea suggested in my original post), so why is it not there until a distance is entered? Unless forcing distance to be >0... no, because after you put distance back to 0 the quantity box is still visible

Or if you don't think this is a bug, why is it inconsistent? How am I supposed to know at which point pulling an arrow on which tools in Fusion will suddenly make fields appear for modification? Or why is distance required first? I see no reason.

What I think should happen here is the quantity box is shown at all times. You then have the option to:

- Enter quantity first, Fusion auto calculates the distance so objects are side-by-side. You can then adjust the distance if needed.

OR

- Enter distance first then quantity, as per the existing workflow

I will post in feature request as suggested
