Part List Table showing up empty on drawing with 19+ sheets.

I do not know if this is related to the number of sheets, but it seemed to happen when I tried to go past 19 sheets. Last night, I was happily adding table after table of part lists onto multiple sheets. I thought I had a handle on the workflow, when this morning I wake up and the part lists are completely blank... no matter what I try, on which sheet, or in reference to which base drawing I try, they all show up blank... entirely blank, with only one row...

any help?

Well, I've tried just about everything I could think of to troubleshoot this... something went wrong with this drawing file.

Does it have anything to do with the service outage that is currently reported? "Untangling some wires?" I'd love it if they could untangle the wires that wasted 5 hours of my time today, and potentially ruined the entire week's worth of work...

Okay... now, suddenly, when I open the drawing every table is empty... just 30 minutes ago or so, the rest of the tables were fine and populated correctly. (to clarify, in my original post, I was trying to describe the fact that only NEW tables added to the drawing were empty -- now all the previously placed tables show up blank, too.)

Sounds like a week of work down the tube.

Hi n8bot,

The parts list tables in the drawing are tied to the information in the design, so if there is some type of outage that could be a contributing factor here.  Are all the views still appearing correctly?  The balloons with item numbers (if there are any in the drawing)?  A few things to try:

1. Close the drawing, close any/all designs, close Fusion (a reboot here never hurts), re-launch Fusion again and open the drawing.

2. Close all open documents, in the upper right click Job Status, switch to Offline mode, Open the drawing. Provided you're on the same system, this should already be cached since you're been working on it before.

3. Close all open documents, go back to Online mode.  In the data panel expand the versions button for the drawing > Promote the 2nd to last version (presumably before the problem occurred) and open the drawing.

If none of these restore the tables, can you share the file with me ([email protected].), information on this is here: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/share-a-public-link-of-your-fusion-360-design/

Thanks,

Chris

Thank you for the reply.

I'm starting to think more and more it might be outage related. Things are slowly starting to work again. I may have a path to finishing the drawings.

It seems it might be related to suppressed components in different base views....

If I can't get things working after the outage sorts itself, I'll send you the files.

Thanks!

Hmm.

The "problem" table is coming from a sub assembly a few levels deep from the top. It's a component that contains a bunch of fasteners. When I try to create a drawing from the parent component called "fasteners," I get a blank table. When I try to bring in one of those individual fasteners, I get the start of a table, and I can "unsupress" each fastener one at a time to start to populate the table.

However, when I unsupress a certain component, the table starts behaving wonky (not incrementing QTY when I unsupress multiple of the problem fastener) and causing all subsequent tables added to be empty.

What could it be about the specific component fastener that is causing this table to break?

I've started having this problem on large assemblies.

I noticed I often can't balloon my components when this happens, as if they are no longer components, or linked as such.

My tables won't populate at all unless I make a new sheet entirely. Which means redimensioning everything.

Hi buckbMSXUR,

The symptoms you describe (empty Parts List tables and balloons not working) sounds like a problem we've had some other reports of.  Balloons to new views will work, but not existing views.  I'm not sure of every way to end up in this state, but I could reproduce by deleting a sheet that contained views/balloons/parts list and then updating my drawing.

We are tracking this as a bug (internal reference FDWG-9686) and are targeting the next update.  I don't have a specific date but we are working on getting this out as soon as possible.  Sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.  Once the fix is out existing drawings will be recoverable by forcing an update (either get latest after a design change or toggling component checkboxes in the drawing to cause the parts list to update.

If you continue to have this problem after the update is live, please let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi buckbMSXUR,

The new update (2.0.4279) just went live.  Please update/restart then check your parts list (open the drawing and toggle a component checkbox off/on to trigger an update).  Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
Chris
