Parallax error with my sketch

Hello friends, I'm trying to make a 40mm x 40mm sketched box on the side of a post, but when I zoomed in I noticed the box does not line up with the post that am sketching on.  any ideas why it doesn't line up?

Nope, just user error.

snpdb.PNG

This sketch and any that are referenced off it is not parallel to the Origin plane.

The sketch you are complaining about is parallel to the Origin plane.  Makes the leg at an angle, not the new sketch.

No timeline - means you start over.

thanks for showing that. so I guess its all due to the original plane that I based it off.

I originally based the first construction plane using 3 points to create a flat working platform, but clearly is not flat even tho to the eye I looks flat.

any suggestions on how to make a actual flat building surface so that my sketches are not off angle.

Sure, we normally offset an Origin plane, with one of your points, not all 3.

I'll presume the surface bodies are imported, and pretty close, but as you are building to fit, would pick a single point to reference from.
