Paint Selection Does not capture slivers

I am trying to select all the body facets of a converted mesh but the paint selection tool does not capture everything.

  1. I first set view to be sure I select only the faces I need.
  2. Then set selection filter to only body faces
  3. Paint to select my faces
  4. Some sliver faces are not selected!

Attached is the wmv file that demonstrates the problem.

I want to make sure I capture all the faces so I can use the push-pull tool afterward.   The push-pull fails because not all faces are reliably selected.

Thanks for the report. I'll send this to the selection team.

From what I can see, the faces you call sliver faces are smaller than a pixel when you brush over them. In the video you picked each of them, but does the paint selection work if you can actually see the face? (i.e. when it's larger than a single pixel rather than smaller).

The selection logic is not by location, but rather it's graphical. If the object is smaller than the brush can detect, this would be somewhat expected. Although I wonder if it can be improved, hence the ticket I'll log will be an improvement ticket for selection logic to ignore the graphics and pick whatever may be in the area.
