Orange icon solid body issue

Hi,

I'm new to fusion 360 and want to get to grips with for my own professional development as where i work uses solidworks and that's all I've ever known, which is also relatively new to me (been using it for 18 months now).

So I'm having a play in fusion 360 and i've created a cylinder, extruded it no problem, happy days... i've gone to create a sketch on the right plane and selected the revolve tool, using the inside of the cylinder as the axis to revolve around, but the revolve has come out as a surface model and i don't understand what i've done wrong?? Looking into it i've seen people say to use the stitch feature in the patch workspace, but i dont have that workspace available to me in the drop down??

Any help would be appreciated!:)

Hi,

you can also extrude a solid

solid surface.png

As an alternative to extrusion there is also the revolving tool.
If you share* your design, we can give you some advice based on the sketch.

As shown in @g-andresen  image the is both a set of solid tools and a set of surface tools = make sure that you select the correct Revolve tool.
Also  - from your screenshot it appears that your sketch is not fully defined.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
