Notching a cone

Hello everyone, i'm a bit inexperienced with Fusion.

Now to the actual problem. So i'm trying to make a pattern to notch a cone tube in to a hole. There is a of programs and calculators to create pattern that you can put over the tube and cut it. Now there problem with them, they only work on one axis, but my design requires them to be 2 axial cut(i hope that makes sense) so i'm trying to create via Fusion.

The project i tried to make with a some youtube guide i found. The guy in the video after using revolve manage to convert a cone in to a sheet metal, while i only get a straight line.

Here is your model back with a slight change.  You need to create a surface revolve and then thicken it and last join it to your first flange.  Things have improved since this method was presented, I will create another cone and attach it to another post.

It is much more direct with the introduction of the Convert to Sheet Metal command.  Take a look at the Screencast and see if you agree.  Model is attached if you need it.

THANKS! Until I found this I couldn't figure out that the addition of that small flange is the key to converting complex curvature to sheet metal. Great video!
