Noob needs help with exporting model to snapmaker printer.

Hi people,

I have just got my Snapmaker printer and I'm very keen to use it.

I have designed a model on here and now can't figure out how to export it to the printer. Some places say export as a STL file some say export as G code, I cant seem to do either.

Not sure if it's because I have the free software or is it just due to my general ineptitude.

I am very new to this and have a basic knowledge of everything so any information would be greatly welcomed.

Hi,

What does snapmaker say?

I've not spoken to Snapmaker as yet, I think they use something called Snapmaker Luban as the slicer (correct me if I'm wrong), which I have downloaded, , like I said, very new to this. As far as I can make out it needs a G-code to make the model but either way I look at it I cant generate G-Codes or a STL file that works. I just think I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.

Snapmaker asks for a STL file to put into its software which then generates the G-Code needed to make the 3D model. So I just need to generate the STL file from my Fusion360, any help with this would be gratefully received.

Seth,

I tried that and the upload failed, so not sure what next step is, I think I've somehow messed the model up because I can't get back to that page either now, very frustrating!

So you’ll need to open the Snapmaker software the free one it come with. Then by opening the 3D print portion to view the 3D bed image you will be able to add either by drag and drop of the STL file or directly opening the file on the screen where it indicates.

OTs the STL file your needing to download from the sites then saving to your desktop
