No matter what I do I get the "multiple instances are not supported" error

Every time I first start Fusion I get the 'Fusion is already open', 'multiple instances are not supported' error.

I've tried uninstalling it, including deleting the directories, and reinstalling it - a few times at least. I check in task manager to make sure neither Autodesk nor Fusion is running. Reboot, check task manager, nothing running, go to start Fusion and get the error. Doesn't matter what I do. Soon as I try to open Fusion I get the error message telling me Fusion is already open and multiple instances are not supported. I can launch Fusion anyway, but it's kind of annoying having that error now somehow be the default launch error .... Any suggestions?

Where are you launching Fusion from?  If you are using your Task Bar or the Windows Start menu, then you only need to single left click.  It could be that your mouse is set to double click when you press the left button or it could be malfunctioning.  Try a different mouse or use your keyboard alone to try and sort out the issue.

Thanks for the reply. Hadn't thought of trying a different mouse or keyboard. Didn't matter though. Doesn't matter where I launch it from either. Pretty sure it started after an uninstall / reinstall cycle. So I'm wondering if there was something leftover in the registry somehow. I'll have to get around to looking into it. Surely one more uninstall / reinstall cycle couldn't hurt anything right? 😉

On the plus side - the current installation seems to be fairly stable. Aside from the start up error, I haven't been having the issues I was having previously at least. Increased my ram from 16gb to 64gb ... (still got the same error message on start up).

Thanks again for the reply,
