No intersection between target(s) and split tool with incredibly simple model

I've created an incredibly simple model to explore a couple ideas prior to writing a script. I'm getting the error above when trying to split a body, and I can't understand why. It should be obvious what I'm trying to do from the linked model. I'm trying to split the body with the surface. If I modify the model so that the splitting tool doesn't need to be extended, it works.

You did not share your model so it cannot be downloaded.  To split a body, the cutting plane MUST fully encompass the body, that is the only rule.

I thought I shared the model via the link:

I said "share with anyone who has this link", or something like that. What did I do wrong?

Just so there is another route, I'm attaching the f3d file.

As I mentioned earlier, the cutting surface MUST completely intersect the body for the Split Body command to work.  You are a little short on one side. Model is attached where I extended the surface to cover.

About the share, you probably forgot to check Allow Download.

That's why I selected "extend splitting tool", where you won't see that issue. I tried to include the model, but downloading is not allowed without a paid subscription, and I'm not a professional user. (I'd be happy to pay $10/month as a serious "hobbyist", but $60/month is too much). So, here's the model again as f3d, as well as a very similar model that works

As I showed you is a previous post, your surface does not cover the complete solid.  Even if you select "Extend Splitting Tool" does not guarantee success, especially in this case.  Extend the surface use the Extend tool and it works perfectly.  Model attached.
