New Fusion update and menu is unreadable again. Please help.

The definition and readability of Fusion's menus have varied considerably over time, especially with 4K screens where, for a while, optimal adaptation to the format wasn't possible.

But! We had achieved something quite good for several months now (please see "screenshot before"), with colorful icons and menu text using a legible, not-too-thin font.

And now! With the latest update (please see "screenshot after"), everything has changed, resulting in less legible logos and, above all, a font that's far too thin!

I've tried everything possible to get back to the previous layout, which suited me perfectly (especially my eyesight), but without success.

If anyone has a tip, a method, or at the very least an explanation, I'd be very grateful.

Sorry for my bad english.

Thank you very much!

Hi @thierry.e.manach,

Thanks for sharing the screenshots and the detailed explanation, and no worries at all about your English, it’s very clear.

To help us understand whether this change is related to your local setup or the recent update itself, could you please confirm a few things?

  • Have you made any recent changes to your screen resolution, scaling, or display settings, especially related to your 4K monitor?

  • Have you changed any Fusion Preferences, such as UI scaling, text size, or theme settings?

  • Can you confirm whether this reduced readability appeared immediately after the latest Fusion update, without any other changes on your system?

If possible, it would also help to know:

  • Your operating system and version

  • The Fusion version you are currently using

With that information, we can better determine whether this is a regression in the recent update or something influenced by local display or preference settings.

Hello Sujay,

thank you very much for your quick reply.

I can answer your questions.

I haven't changed any resolution or settings on my monitors, I haven't changed my preferences, and yes, I can confirm that the change appeared right after the last update; that's exactly how it happened.

The operating system is Windows 11 Professional version 25H2. The Fusion version is 2606.1.22 x86_64.

The previous version of Fusion that suited me was 2604.1.48 x86_64.

I currently have two PCs. One is in my office with Fusion version 2606.1.22. The other is in my workshop with Fusion version 2604.1.48.

I was able to compare the monitors and recreate the exact same settings, but it doesn't work.

Unfortunately, I can no longer use version 2604.1.48 because I cannot read files created with the latest version in my office.

I hope you will be able to resolve this, and thank you in advance for your help.

 Best regards,

    Thierry

Hi @lance.carocci ,

Can you please confirm if we have done any changes to the font or anything with text?

January release removed the Classic theme, which utilized Arial on Windows. The newer themes mainly utilize Artifakt, Autodesk's corporate typeface.

Hello,

First of all, thank you for the explanation.

I did some research on the forum regarding fonts, and it seems I'm not the only one who dislikes the new user interface.

I don't understand your strategy. At the very least, you should keep the old settings, which suit the majority of users.

What are you going to do to fix this?

Best regards,

    Thierry

I think Autodesk has forgotten a key motto: The best is the enemy of the good.
