New Cloud Simulation Requirement is Completely Unacceptable

Every single person I've talked to who uses Fusion 360 is absolutely appalled by this move to essentially ban local simulation solves. It is a huge slap in the face to all of its users and just plain greedy. Autodesk is about to lose a significant amount of business from people like me who just cannot justify using the software anymore and are upset because of the investment they made in the software with not only the subscription costs but the time and effort they had to put in to switch from their previous software.

Please reply with how you feel about this and hopefully Autodesk will listen to us and do the right thing and allow us to use our own hardware for processing any task whether it be simulation, renderings, etc.!

I have decided to cancel my subscription indefinitely and will avoid all Autodesk software until they decide to treat their customers better. I simply cannot trust a company that pulls the rug out beneath your feet and then charges unrightful amounts of money just to continue doing what you did before, which was the reason for using the software in the first place.

Again, I know this might come off as a bit of a rant, but I really do want to provide useful feedback to them even if I personally choose not to use their product anymore.

I hear you and totally agree.

Have you noticed a trend of Autodesk to sloooowly introduce things that are requested, and then make it so you have to pay to use once it has been implemented.

Fusion 360 was, once upon a time the go to software because of what it could do, but PRIMARILY because of its price.

Now that you have to continually pay for more and more things and deal with more and more crashes and errors its becoming more and more UN-desirable.

I am agree 100%. Fusion 360 is slowly becoming the bane of my existence. Every update now seems to break something. Fusion 360 is the single most expensive piece of software I have installed on my computer, and I am sourly disappointed with its stability and performance.

You are 100% correct, sir. It's sad, because over the years of using Fusion 360 I recommended it to multiple people and some of them purchased the subscription. Now it looks like most devs were replaced with salespeople, because it works worse and paywalls grow everywhere you look. The possibility to run the local solver was a main aspect that motivated our company to buy very expensive hardware that dealt with the simulations very well and was way quicker than the cloud solver. So, for us it is quite a backstab to say the least. I'm looking forward to a plot twist here and the great comeback of local solver, but also I'm already exploring the competition and it looks like they will have a boost of new subscribers soon after the exodus from Fusion 360.

@davidSZ84U I don't agree with everything you say, but you still got Like #6 from me, an Autodesk Expert Elite.

I discovered that Autodesk had removed the local simulation option after coming back from holiday. The whole reason I paid for Fusion (I could legitimately use the personal license) was for simulation and Eagle.

Now that I've paid for a 3yr license, I found that I now can only run linear static simulations, and only on their incredibly slow cloud service. I've now got 27 months of a crippled product, and am now aware that Autodesk are more than happy to rip out functionalty that they charged me for.

As such, I've cancelled the auto renewal as there's no longer much point in paying for it if this is the direction AutoDesk are taking.

Fusion360 team needs to bring back local simulation for normal use solutions. I spec'd and built a powerful computer to use it, and not to be paywalled from being able to use it. For comparison, the cloud service simulation speed is nearly the same if not slower than a local run on a 10 year old laptop with 12gb of ram. Come on. Fusion 360 team or Autodesk please fix this farce of a product improvement. Time is money and you are wasting my time and costing me business.
