Need little help on circular pattern and curved text on a slanted face

Hi ,

I'm trying to build a angle wheel for my lathe chuck.  I would like the thicks to be embosses so that my needle ticks when I change degree.  I would also like to have some text to display the angle.

Have a look at the picture for the result.

Is there an easy way to place ciruclar patterns on these 3 faces.  For some reason the only pace I was able to do the circular pattern was the front face.

I drew my cut face tn used the extrude tool.  Then did the markings on the face with 360 thicks and 72 thicks for the longer line for each 5 degrees.

Let me know

Thanks

Please attach your model.  Open in Fusion, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive.  Attach to a reply post or attach it to your original post.

Hi John,

Sorry,  I'm a newbie at CAD.  The last time I was doing technical drawing was 36 years ago with a pencil on a drawing table with cables holding my ruler.  This is my 3rd Fusion360  drawing project so I'm still very very green!

Here is the file.

I was reading some threads on sheet metal but I don't know if its the way to go.

Thanks for the help.

My model is attached.  I do not know of any way of distinguishing the 5 degree marks on the angled face.  If you edit any of the patterns, please note I used Adjust instead of Optimize for the Compute Type for a reason, so prepare for slow performance!

As far as the embossing of the numbers, I have attached a model of a antique clock face that I hope will give you an idea on a method I used to get the roman numerals on the dial,

Hi John,

I modified a little the looks.  I would like to add the text in my last Sketch.  For some reason I can't seem to emboss or extrude the text.  The Text disapears when I finish my sketch.

Actually the text is not on the same plane as your clock but on the circumference face.(Not too sure how to put words into that).

I tried to do a chamfer but it did not work.

What did you do at the begining of the timetable?  What is this function ?

thank you very much for your help.

First, I did not add the feature you indicate in the timeline, you did when you started your model.  Look back at your original file.  This symbol shows you have created a sheet metal component to begin your design.  It is a good thing to create a component but to choose sheet metal as the type, is beyond me.  Your text for Embossing works just fine and I am returning your model with the text embossed to 0.01 depth which you can change if desire.  If something disappears, simply turn it back on using the Browser "Eye" beside the item you want to make visible. Never turn off Folders, only entries below the folder. You removed the angled part of the dial,  I wish you had told me earlier you were going to to this as this feature added quite a bit of time to my previous solution. Model attached.

Hi,

Ohhh! I see, it was probably one of my multiple tests to try to get to work on the face.  Must have missed more UNDO.  Very sorry for removing the angled corner.  But when realising that the I would be looking at the face the angled faced removed space for my text.  Since the needle will also be on that same face I needed some the maximum lines size.  Sorry.

I did not think people would do the work for me but guide me on the tools to use.  But you are amazing with the great help.  Sorry again.
