My sketch lines all disappear when drawn on existing body

I am attempting to draw a construction line on an existing body, but despite trying all manner of different ways, when I click "Finish Sketch" the line disappears.  The browser shows the existence of a new sketch and the timeline also shows the sketch but there is no visible existence of the sketch on my drawing.  Curiously, if I try to draw the line outside of the body (on the drawing plane) it shows up as usual.  This is driving me mad ....

making a guess here.  You have "Auto project geometry on active sketch plane" on (which is the default), and you sketched on a planar face.  The sketch is there, but you don't see the lines.

this is what you see if you sketch on a planar face (I turned the body off):

the profile is there, but no lines are drawn.

This is as intended.  The projected edges from the sketch plane are not shown to avoid cluttering the sketch.  The lines and curves are there, you can snap to them, constrain to them, etc, but they are just not drawn.  If you really want to see them, select them, delete them, and manually re-project them by projecting the face, but most people are OK with the current state

Attach the file and end all doubt.

Thanks to all the respondents for your suggestions. The problem has resolved itself -- after spending a couple of hours trying to fix it previously (with no success), today I tried again and everything is now working as expected.  I changed nothing, repeated the exact same steps as before --- ?????  Is Fusion prone to random mystery hiccoughs?

OK -- back to where I started.  Just went to draw another sketch and once again, the sketch exists (Sketch3 in Component LightBox) but the line is invisible.  I've attached the file.  Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

Rooky error - sorry to waste everyone's time. I have just learnt from trial an error that to lock-in a sketch it is not sufficient to just click Finish Sketch. It is necessary to hit Enter first to complete the sketch. So much to learn, so little time ...
