moving an offset plane

Hello - this is a very basic question but one that I have stumbled across.  How do I move offset plane 3 in the attached drawing.  I want to increase the thickness of this door by 1 inch so want to move the plane out by an inch.  I select the plane and click edit but it disapears,

Guenther - I am so sorry - it was a typo - it is plane 2 that I cannot move.....can you please take a quick look and let me know what you think - sorry!

Hi,

plane 2 had lost its cover.
My assumption that plane 1 is the reference plane seems to be correct.
After creating the reference, editing plane 2 also works.
