i have imported a dxf file....a sprocket ....couldn't push/pull it....after reading about problems i discovered it was a faulty file....lots of spaces left and also extensions past intersections.....is the a place to get profiles of sprockets ? is there a easy way to draw them?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting. I think the problems with the DXF are likely due to the output options in the source program - you may be able to address some of these problems there.

You could also create the gear in Fusion. First off, we have a few different add-ins capable of gear modeling. One of these add-ins, the Spur Gear Generator, is included in Fusion - you can learn more about it in the video at this link

You could also find the gears on McMaster-Carr and insert them into Fusion 360 using this procedure.

This video also includes some information on sketching gear profiles in Fusion that may be helpful.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Irishwill65

Thanks for posting. In this case, I think you will need to either sketch out the profile or see if any other export options from the source program will give better results. I think it may be easier to simply sketch the gear in Fusion 360 - you could even use your existing DXF file as a reference.
