Model depth and CAM depth not matching up...overlooking something?

I am attempt to engrave (3D adaptive pocket) a design.  The model is ..077 thick and I have imported the SVG and pulled (cut in into model) at a depth of -.025 (below model top).  In cam, I am using the adaptive clearing, Top height "Selection" picking the model top, then Bottom Height I have "Top Heigh.  However, in CAM on the heights selection screen, my TOP plane is automatically defaulting to -0.04" and no matter what I change (where ever in model or cam) it remains a constant. Since I only want to cut to a depth of -0.025 this is kind of a big deal.

So, what am I overlooking and/or missing?  I am sure it's something simple.

Thank you in advance for your help and advise.  If you couldn't tell, I'm a noob at all this.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! While it is hard to say without having a look at your Fusion 360 design, I have some thoughts on what the confusion may be here.

The numbers shown in the height planes overlayed on the Fusion 360 model in the CAM workspace refer to the distance (along the Z-axis) of that height from the work coordinate system (CAM Origin) in the CAM workspace. The default stock body created in a CAM setup in Fusion will add 0.04" of stock to all sides of the part - which leads me to believe that an incorrect stock definition is leading to the confusion you have experienced.

Do the heights appear correctly if you edit the CAM setup and remove any additional stock applied to the model top by the relative size box?

Please let me know if you have any questions - I am happy to help! Feel free to attach the design you are working with to this forum post and I will have a look.

Yup....it was the set up.  As soon as I went to Model Solid and selected the top, it all fell into place.  Thank you for the help, I knew I was overlooking something very simple, just didn't know  where to start.  Lessons learned to move forward.
