Midpoint: "shift hover' supposed to work? Constrain a rectangle

BeginnerBro:  First, I'm seeing all these videos that say the midpoints in a sketch line will show up as a triangle if you pull a line to it.    Shift-hover is supposed to be magic...but I'm not seeing midpoint triangles anywhere.

Second, I'm trying to fully constrain a sketch, which always looks  easy in the videos. It's just a rectangle on top of a body but it won't take any more constraints, and I'm trying to throw the constraint sink at it until something sticks but...no luck.

I am so eager to see that little red lock on the sketch that I'm shaking!!!!

One more Constraint, one more dimension, to get the red lock, in pic, 1721

Make and end point of the 3 mm line, vertical from the origin, and dimension something to Origin for height. (Y direction).

Snap to the midpoints works for me, sometimes you don’t need shift, sometimes you do.

Might help....

Hi,

Constraints like midpoint or vertical/horizontal require corresponding elements in the active sketch.
If these are not present, they must be created by projection.
