Traditionally, the measuring tool would return the perpendicular distance between parallel surfaces. However, lately I have noticed that for parallel surfaces, it is reporting the horizontal distance between them (instead of 0mm). This behaviour can be very misleading when inspecting for perpendicularity between close surfaces. Illustration attached.
