Measure distances in x,y,z

Is there an option to get the result of the measurement tool in x,y,z coordinates?
I am often more interested in the distance of two objects with respect to the coordinate frame and not the shortest distance between them. Unfortunately, this is the only result the measurement tool provides. Sometimes, I got the result also in x,y,z values but this is not common and, as far as I can tell, very random.
It would be nice to get both results at the same time at all instances, similar to when I select two circles/cylinders and I get the distance between the centre points but also the max and min distances.

Here is a very simple case of two parallel cylinders. 
I know this case is not very realistic because I created the two bodies from one sketch but it could be that the geometry comes from an imported file without any design history or is an assembly of two components.

So you measure from the origin to the centre point of the cylinder?

Even, when measuring between 2 objects, the absolute position of the points relative to the origin is  displayed additionally.
