Mcmaster-Carr requires log in and then blocks me

Info for other users...

Mcmaster-Carr catalogue requires me to log in (even after clearing cache) and when I do sign up I'm told that they think I'm a bot and I'm blocked for 24 hours.

This is not useful.

Insert a manufacturer part requires me to give up an email to download a part (limited to 50 downloads per day!).

This is not useful, nor is it respectful of my privacy (same goes for Mcmaster Carr).

Instead of being innovative and creative, I've got to create my own library of parts so that I won't be stopped because I might be a bot.

Are you certain this is the McMaster-Carr download - i know that the PARTCommunity catalogue does this but i've never seen or been asked to put an email in for McMaster-Carr.

I am certain that I am stopped from using the mcmaster-carr catalogue and asked to log in.  In order to do this I signed up, providing an email.  I am certain that I then receive a message stating that my 'useage pattern' has led to me being blocked for 24 hours.

That is strange, can you upload a screenshot of the issue? It pings McMaster-carr's server so if it as asking for a login it would be on them. I'm not seeing it on my side inserting that many components.

I've seen a few threads on this when searching but we have no articles for it and nor are any of us able to reproduce. I think this is an issue with McMaster-Carr.

After clearing your cache, did you test restarting your computer?

Yes, I agree with you that this is not a Fusion specific issue.  This is more of an info post for users - Mcmaster-Carr is analysing what we are doing and logging patterns of useage etc - including blocking based on useage patterns.

Since I'm not in the US I will never use Mcmaster-Carr so I guess this is the only benefit they'll get from me if and when I use that plug-in.

The image I posted was after switching my PC off for the night and then restarting it about 15 minutes before hand.

Yeah well then i'm stumped on that. If you really want to, and you probably should, reach out to them with those concerns.

I have been in contact with Mcmaster-Carr via the 'how can we improve' button in the app.  I got a nothing response back stating that they had safeguards in place to protect their info such as their cad files.  So it looks like we're all gonna have to sign up to mcmaster-carr.  I am going to work on decreasing my reliance on that particular 'feature'.
