Mass unit properties - weird behaviour in drawing title title block

I'm experiencing some frustrating behaviour with changing the mass units for the title block of a drawing. When there's a "Model_Mass"-Attribute in the title block of a drawing it is supposed to display options for adjusting the mass unit and accuracy / number if decimal places.

This does not work reliably.

For whatever reason fusion just keeps randomly not displaying the options. Allmost every time I have to enter, close and reenter the title block attribute edit mode over and over until it finally shows up. The next time I try it in the same drawing and on the same plan where it just worked, it's the same thing allover again. No options displayed and then leave and reopen the edit mode a few times and the option magically appears again. Sometimes I just give up after what feels like a hundret attempts and just overwright the attribute by hand, calculating the unit conversion myself. The attached screenshots show the options menu of the same plan of the same drawing with no changes to the title block whatsoever. They were taken just a few seconds appart (needed to open attribute edit mode a few times before the mass unit options appeared again).

Hi @j.luedtkeM3ALD

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble.

Can you tell us a little bit more about the problem?

  • Does this happen on a specific file, or files?
  • Or is it on every drawing?
  • Are you running Windows or Mac?

  • It happens pretty randomly in a lot of files. In some it's nearly impossible to get the options to display and in some it's about a 50:50 chance. I can't really say if it's a specific kind of file. It does not happen in drawing templates. Other than that I'm clueless. It happened in newly created drawings as well as older files. The only thing all files have in common is, that I made some changes in the title block of the template and then created a new plan based on that template to import the updated title block.
  • It is not in every drawing. In some drawings the options always show. Even if I imported an updated title block like mentioned above.
  • I'm running on windows 10 and windows 11 on a second device. On both devices I experience the same behaviour.

Hi @j.luedtkeM3ALD ,

Please note that, the options to adjust the mass unit and precision will appear in the Edit Properties dialog ONLY WHEN there is Mass attribute inserted in the title block.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Yeah, I know... Why would I want to change mass units if I didn't have a mass attribute in the title block...

As I wrote pretty explicitly, the options appear or don't apear in the same drawing on the same plan with the same title block, that has a mass attribute. Even deleting the mass attribute and putting it in again doesn't change the behaviour.

Hi @j.luedtkeM3ALD

Please can you share a link to one of the misbehaving files, so that I can ask the team to investigate this? Or if it is sensitive, feel free to send it directly to me Clint. Brown {a} Autodesk.com

While you do that, I wonder if clearing your cache would help?
