The Pan/Zoom/Orbit on Mac trackpad has been broken at least since we migrated to Fusion a few years back and it seems to be getting worse with recent Fusion updates.
According to this doc: Mac trackpad issues with Fusion from January '24 there is a fix to support the track pad natively in an Insider Build, when is it likely that this will be released to the rest of us?
I'm having to either restart Fusion or toggle the Gesture preferences sometimes 10 times a day to get it working again currently, it always seems to fail at most inconvenient point editing a feature and it's driving me nuts.
I'm also really hoping with the phrase "native support" that <SHIFT> will no longer be needed to orbit, and it will be pinch-to-zoom, 2-fingers to pan and 3-fingers to orbit (which are the native Apple gestures)?
