Local render does not respect absrption distance settings

I have a model which consists of big transparent (glass parts).
When renderin in canvas everything looks great. But with raytracing activated I can't export a raytraced image with transparent background. That option is simply greyed out.

When rendering in the coud or doing a local render all transparent materials seem to disappear and strange reflection atrtifacts appear. Here I'm able to export with transparent background,  but the rendering just looks awful.

What might be going on here?

I assume it is related to the absprtion distance. Changing it doesn't change anything when rendering locally. It only seems to affect in canvas rendering.

So I do have to choose beween proper render quality and transparent background?
I would like to use both at the same time.
