Linking excel to field and field to text

Im hoping to get my part numbers to be embossed into my parts.  I have an excel document with my 5 digit part numbers and I'd like to be able to link the excel document to the "part number" field and then to link that field to extruded-cut text.  The goal is that when I update the excel with a new part number, the part number will have new embossed text when I refresh

There was an excellent free add-in called Sheeter...developed by an Autodesk employee ( I think) that has stopped working ( again, I think)
