Latest update is causing the program to freeze for 10 secs doing simple things

This is a basic sketch, not even anything 3D and it is constantly freezing doing anything with with the sketch from drawing a line to doing a polygon.
It's using negligible resources in the task manager.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
GPU: GTX 1070
Memory: DDR4 32GB

Tried restarting, thinking something is just being a pain but it does nought to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Can you share this design or an image of the sketch?

Thanks,

Heya sorry I should I have included an image. I've done the rest now but it was bad even at the first few lines. It freezes and the panel goes black on the right. I check task manager and nothing much is happening.
Like right now it is barely using the CPU, maxes around 15% peak but average 5%
Memory is only at 1GB.
GPU is max 10%

It feels like it is running out of resources or not utilising them.

There are a couple hundred profiles in that sketch. Each time you modify (trim/extend/draw) Fusion has to compute all the profiles again. These are the shaded blue areas.

If you could share the sketch it would make a good performance study. It's nice to have real customer cases like this.

In the mean time, can you try turning off profile display (in the sketch palette) while editing the sketch. Do you see better performance?

Another tactic would be to make more of the lines into construction lines. Those do not define profile boundaries. If any of your solid lines are not truly defining a boundary for an extrude or other feature based on the profile, they could be construction lines.

Please let me know what you find.

I would pattern feature rather than pattern sketch elements.

Aye I am a terrible one for forgetting to do construction lines and only going around and doing it after. I did not realise that the profiles would use so much resources. Thank you for explaining that it helps me better understand what I was doing wrong! It doesn't seem to have the same issues in freezing now that profiles have been turned off.
Would this link be helpful? I have on a way from that point but the basic sketches are still there.

Notice the simplicity of Sketch1 in this example.

similar problems here 😞   simple disc with 4 holes..........  not a good side effect of great updates.

Thanks for the design. I tested it in the previous build version and the latest and did not find any differences. I don't see any problems at all, actually. The model performs well for parametric updates and sketch edits. I'm wondering if you are still seeing these issues with the nice model you shared? Such as going back to the first sketch or two and making edits. If you still see dramatic issues after restarting your computer and trying again, let me know.

Thanks,
