Joints

So I don't want to sound like like I'm whining but why are joints so complicated?  Why do parts move in dumb directions when I select the joint etc?  I want to join 2 components together in assembly.  They need to be set at the midpoint of each component and then have 2 faces mated coincident to one another.  I understand that SolidWorks probably has some IP around how this happens but Fusion 360 does NOT make it intuitive.

See the attached photo.  I need the component on the left to straddle the component on the right and sit in the center.  Why is this so difficult?

Nothing difficult about that.  Centre of top faces.

Adjust Z height to suit, but you can offset in all 3 directions if you wish.

Might help....

Hi,

It's that easy.

You can follow the process from @davebYYPCU  file here.

OK thanks.  I guess my issue was from the fact that my "saddle" has a recess under it and when I would click that flat face, it would either place it too low or turn it 90 degrees for some reason.  Thanks for the help.
