Inventor Contact Set is not functioning as sub assembly

Hi,

I'm trying to incorporate an energy chain into the slider mechanism of an assembly. I used the Contact Set command to assemble and position each link of the chain, and it works correctly without any overlap within the chain assembly.

However, after inserting the chain into the main assembly and setting it to Flexible, the Contact Set feature no longer seems to function as expected.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
