Inteference Detection Between Components Only (Excluding Interfences within a Component)

I have a design made up of two separate components, we'll call them "Comp A" and "Comp B".  Each of these components is made up of multiple bodies.  Comp A and Comp B both have internal interference between some of their constituent bodies.  When I use the Interference tool it shows all interferences within Comp A & Comp B, and between Comp A & Comp B.  I would only like to see interferences between Comp A & Comp B, is this possible?

Yes there are workarounds to this problem such as removing internal interferences within each component but ideally there would be a way to select multiple components and only view interferences between them and not within them.

no, this is not directly possible.  Interference checks are at the root a body/body check.  Selection of a Component is interpreted as selecting all the bodies in that component.  So, your workflow is the only way to do this.
