Installer and launch issues Win 10 19033 w/logs

Anonymous

System: Desktop Windows 10 v 19033 with nVidia 2080, previously running Fusion 360, which broke with 19033.

Initial symptom: Launching Fusion 360 started the launcher and fusion 360 exes but no splash screen or anything else.

- Uninstalled, rebooted, ran Fusion 360 Cleaner, rebooted, downloaded latest client,
- Ran installer:
[WinError 740] The requested operation requires elevation

(see attached log). Deleted all of $env:AppData/Autodesk, then deleted all 'autodesk' and 'fusion' registry keys (except the .NET fusion cache keys), rebooted, installer worked, but fusion still won't boot.

I attached a debugger, and basically Fusion360 is sitting in WaitForSingleObjectEx from inside a module called PinnableInstaller.

I used ProcessMon to create a process trace of the launcher and first install: https://www.kfs.org/oliver/3d/fusion-install-and-launch.zip

FYI: Rolling back the update worked as a temporary solution for me.

@Anonymous is that a rollback to 19028 or 19025 preview, or production like 1909 (18363.449)?

For everyone else also experience this, please also comment your Insider settings, including the affected/working builds of Windows, and your Flight rings (Slow, Fast, Skip Ahead)

This link might be handy for anyone confused about testing rings and release schedules: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-insider/flight-hub/

For me: Fast ring, Microsoft Windows 10.0.19033, I'll snag the non-insider build details next time I reboot. I have the insider build boot setup primarily for work reasons.

Fast Ring here, now at 19033. Fusion does not work since build 19028.

Hi all, we're still investigating this. For any additional reports, we may be looking at hardware-specific, perhaps GPU-specific bugs, so if possible please provide some of the following details:

  1. Does anyone recall what DirectX version Fusion was using? (generally DX9 or DX11, or OpenGL for legacy and unsupported)
  2. What make/model/platform is your CPU/GPU?
  3. What GPU driver version?
  4. Any other Autodesk software installed?
  5. Any notable configuration: hardware/drivers, e.g. SpaceMouse; network configuration, e.g. proxy or VPN; Antivirus or other scanning/blocking operation

Just tried to install Fusion360 for the first time, and I happen to be on 19033, and encountered this issue. Bad timing for my trial, it appears!

I'm on a rather old Core-i7 2600K, with 16G memory (about 7G free). GPUs are onboard "Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000" (driver version 9.17.10.4459) as well as a nVidia GeForce GT 610 (23.21.13.9135) (three monitors total). No other AutoDesk s/w installed. No fancy "spacemice"(??), networking or anything that I can think of. No anti-malware other than what's built into Win10.

Update to win10 19035.1, not working. Same problem.

The only solution is rollback to previuos version of s.o.

How are you determining this relationship? RpcSs is a stock part of the OS.

I've just confirmed it still fails on 19035.1 on an Acer V3-771G laptop.  with 32Gb RAM.

1. I don't know the Direct X version.

2. A;though having only 1 screen (1080x1920) PC has 2 graphics adapters - Intel HD Graphics 4000 + NVIDIA GeForce GT730M

3. Intel 10.18.10.4358 & NVIDIA 22.21.13.8205.

4. Meshmixer on startup shows a "Meshmixer Update" popup with the message "Cannot connect to the server. Please check your internet connection". This can just be closed.

5. Nothing special. Coonected via Wi-Fi (Qulacomm Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter using MS driver 3.0.2.201)

Hi all,

We can confirm the Fusion behavior, but the cause remains unclear. I appreciate all the tips and observations around potential problem processes or software.

To confirm, it sounds like this likely started with build 19028, and persists today - if you've seen it on an even earlier build, let us know. Those of you rolling back might be able to confirm this.

Thanks for your patience while we investigate a solution.
