Inserting SVG error message

So I know this is not actually a Fusion 360 Issue, but I am hoping someone here has tried what I am trying with success and can lend a hand.

I am basically trying to create text around a circle. Not on a cylinder face, but like around the end face of a cylinder.

I have tried using inskscape to create the text, and used the "Put on path" option, to wrap it around a circle.

I saved this as a plain svg, and imported that svg into fusion, but all I get is the circle the text was wrapped around, and no text.

If I just create Text, it comes in ok, so inkscape must do something to the text when its not straight anymore.

Has anyone done this with success?

I am not an Inkscape user, so I won't be of too much help.  But, in some programs, you have to convert text to vectors before exporting.  If the text comes across as just native text, Fusion won't recognize it.  Fusion can only recognize curves in an SVG.

It looks like this page might be relevant:  http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=10804
