Inserted STL file, trying to convert to BREP - doesn't work any more

Hi.

Since the july update, I cannot select the inserted STL file and convert to BRep! Workflowas follows;

Insert mesh

Switch off capture design history

Go to Modify Menu (solid or surface)

Go to Convert on dropdown

Convert panel appears

Select T-spline to BRep (or others, it doesn't make any difference)

Click on selection / Select

This is where it goes wrong, I cannot select the mesh or anything and I can get no further.

Have tried different stl files of varying complexity. All models were created in fusion 360 previously and saved as STLs so they should be OK(?)

If I pre-select, the selection clears once the Convert panel appears.

What am I missing? It used to work before this update.

Version 2.0.10446, (personal) on Mac. MacOS 10.15.7

Thanks in advance, this is doing my head in!

You do not need to turn off Capture Design History anymore to accomplish the process of converting a Mesh into a Brep Solid.  Just follow the Screencast.

I have to ask why you are interested in Mesh to BRep conversion of designs that already exist as Fusion models.  That seems like a somewhat inefficient workflow.  There is no guarantee that BRep -> Mesh -> BRep will end up with anywhere near the same BRep.

Arh! Thank you! I was trying to worl the old way, which somehow took me down that dead end. Followed your workflow and it all panned out great. Thanks again. BAZ

Yeah, I know it sounded weird, but I'd previously tried with some dodgy STLs of unknown origin, so I wasn't sure if it was the source or my workflow that was the problem.

I do know now! Thanks.

Thank you for the new working for the moment instructions, I was attempting to follow many YouTube tutorials that state timeline must be disabled and showing a different process for converting.

One of the most aggravating aspects of trying to learn Fusion360 is any tutorial over a few weeks old is likely outdated already.
