Incorrect pattern in Design

In creating a spline on a shaft, I have a sketch on the top face of the shaft and make the spline shape for one indent and extrude to the required bottom face (6.0mm) which works correctly. I then pattern the two faces to create the full spline but the extent of the splines goes further than the previously selected face making an incorrect spline. Changing the distance of the extrude to slightly less than the full distance required (5.999mm) creates a correct spline pattern.

Think the problem is the extrude is creating 3 faces but you only selected 2 in the pattern.

Selecting all 3 faces works as expected.

Thanks to both - my fault for missing the tiny 3rd face!!
Both solutions are equally valid but I'll accept the first!
