In process stock option missing from toolbar

I'm unable to turn automatic in process stock generation back on, after disabling it some weeks ago.

The option to enable it does appear in the lower toolbar (Display in process stock F8). But enabling/disabling this doesn't work.

The icon is completely missing from the actions bar

I've also tried enabling/disabling mesh safety check under preview features to see if it would restore the option.

@JezDoesCAD The option is present under Utilities > Actions toolbar.
