Importing SVG file issues for tactile map

Hello all!

I'm having a heck of a time with a project I have for my college. I'm a Junior Graphic Design Major but the office I work in has asked me to broaden my skills and I'm dipping my toes into the CAD world. I've been asked to design and 3D print a Tactile map for students that have seeing impairments to learning disabilities.

I've learnt that through making an SVG file I can extrude the object to my hearts content. Using Adobe Illustrator I've made the file, used the shape builder tool, and ensured that my strokes are connected. Yet when I take that file and place it into Fusion there are paths that shift for what seems to be no reason. I can fix/unfix the file but I really don't want to put in so much more time trying to remake it when the file should just drag and drop into place.

From the look of what you're getting some splines are not importing correctly. Try opening in QCad then save as a DXF and see if the import's better. Or try saving as a DXF from illustrator, although I think illustrator DXF files are not good from what I remember.

It seemed to work but had a couple of places missing in the DFX file as well. I'm hoping that maybe that I have a few things missing things so I'm going to go in with a fine tooth comb again and try more.
