Importing DWG and creating drawing template does not work - Fusion360 crash

Hi. I am trying to create a drawing template from a DWG file. I follow the procedure as stated in the link:

Import drawing template

When I have choosen my .dwg and press the OK button, everything freezes and I have to close Fusion360 via the task manager. What is wrong? I have to say that my computer has been updated (without my permission) from win10 to win11 and I feel that F360 is running much slower, as is the computer itself.

Is your DWG file clean?  By that does it contain Attributes, blocks or multiple layers that can give you problems.  Attach you DWG and let the Forum users take a look at it and see if it is viable for use as a title block in your template.  I am assuming you do not have a Fusion 360 Personal license which is not capable of creating drawing templates.

Hi. That is correct. I have a commercial license (subscription). I tried the repair option in the service utility now and after that the Fusion360 is not longer possible to launch since it is mossing some files. I have reinstalled Fusion360 and will try it again. I don’t know if I can share the template here since it is from a company I work with.

Look what I just saw after reinstallation. Fusion360 say I run Windows 10 Pro. Thats not true since I run the **** Windows 11. Can this be a problem?

The decision to share it is up to you.  If this is a company title block, once it is in service, thousands will probably see it.  You could strip off the logo and company specific information if you like and post it.

No I doubt it, that has been that way for awhile now.  I saw that the day I installed Windows 11.

Still after the reinstall, Fusion360 freezes and crash when importing the DWG. I attach the A3 template here.

I opened your DWG in AutoCAD and it warned me it contained any external reference.  That could be your issue.  Take that away and try again.  I have attached mine if you want to try it.

Hi. I have to call the company to do that. I don’t have AutoCad or other 2D systems dealing with .dwg. I tried your version, unfortunately the same thing happened. Freeze and I had to close the program via task manager. This is the error message I get after Fusion360 was forced shut down. I am very thankful for trying to help 😊

The attached DWG will probably work.  I took out the Logo, since you will want to add that as an image later, and removed all of the references.  I do not have Windows 11 to try it with but it works fine with Windows 10 and the latest Fusion 360 update.

Wow. Thanks alot 😊 That works. So, the problem was the file then. I will have to discuss this with the company. I was able to import it, but the size seem to be little strange. But thats something the company has to fix. Did you just delete the logo from the "template"?

Sincerely

I used AutoCAD to remove the logo from the template.  The size my be my doing.  I sized the template to a perfect A3 during my cleanup so do not blame anyone else for that.
