SVG's imported into Fusion 360 are always broken down into a ton of points and small lines, even when the lines are connected and create an enclosed shape.

Selecting engrave or trace geometry in the manufacture workspace is ridiculously tedious and difficult.

Is there a way to weld these points and lines into a solid line/curve?

Why is there not an option to drag out a selection box when selecting geometry in the CAM workspace?!

Ps. I cannot extrude this SVG or manipulate much more than simply rotating, moving, and scaling or Fusion will crash. Sometimes Fusion will crash if I have this SVG in my model and attempt to do simple operations afterward like create text or even just a line.

my graphics settings are set on simple to optimize performance.

Ive got an Nvidia Quadro p4000 graphics card (i recently bought just to try to solve this issue), an Intel I5 quad core CPU (also just bought to solve this issue) and 20 GB of RAM.

Ive attached the SVG and the F3D file along with screencast of myself selecting a million tiny lines in cam workspace.

First unselect everything as you're doing it wrong. Now select one segment, click the selected segment a second time brings up a toolbar, with that toolbar visible just click at the other end of the path, when all's select click the green plus on the toolbar.

You'll need to help the tool decide where to go at branches and if it will not select all of a path there is a break in the contour.

Make sure you have bracketts running first then post again and it should grab the error file. One thought is there's a bug in the tool library at the moment that turns on flood coolant, if your post doesn't support coolant it might error out. If it's that I think you can edit the tool in the document.

Just downloaded your file again and the problem is with the machine configuration. Ether edit the Y and Z and change to zeros as shown or just click the x in the setup and unselect the generic 3 axis machine and leave it unselected.

I'm doing something (wrong or has this procedure changed?)

I left click on a segment, then left click again... no menu comes up.

I right click on a segment once and a menu comes up.  but can't select farther down the line... right click again and the menu goes away.

Middle click just tries to move view.
