How to import individual tool into Fusion 360 (NOT a tool library)

There seems to be a wealth of tutorials on importing a tool library into Fusion 360. I have a single Whiteside tool that the manufacturer has been so kind as to include a DXF as well as a PDF profile for, yet I can't figure out how to get this information into my tool database. Can anyone help or do I  have to create the tool manually and measure each dimension?

There is no import function for a single tool.  You will have to use the process of defining a new tool in the local tool library of your choice.

Thank you jhackney1972 for your reply. That is what I was afraid of. So the DXF file provided by Whiteside doesn't really do any good in this case. Vectric software, for all its shortcomings allows you to create new tools in your database from profiles so perhaps that functionality will be added in an update someday.

I can assume this answers your Forum post.  If so, please select the Accept Solution to remove it from the board.

I can't really accept no solution as a solution, but feel free to close this thread if you like.

Hi,

If you've seen my screencast, you should have realized that it describes the process of creating your own tool profile and offers more than the process in V-Carve.
