How to export a part file into a .dxf file so that it is vectorized

We uploaded an existing part file, modified it and exported it as a .dxf file.  When I tried to use the file in another software it wouldn't load.  The company who made the software had to take my file, and "explode" it to change it into vector.  I asked what it meant to "explode" and they replied "it converts block references, polylines, splines ellipses, texts, dimensions and hatches into more basic entities".

Can anyone tell me if there is a function in fusion that can convert a .dxf into what I need?

Here are a couple images of what it looked like before and after.

Thanks in advance and sorry if I am making this too confusing.  I never get a straight answer from their support team.

In Fusion, the only thing you can explode is text, which will turn fonts into splines, arcs, lines. But it sounds like the software you are importing into needs an even simpler DXF variant.

Depending on what exactly the software you are using needs, there are a few different methods.

A quick search for "fusion dxf export" yields a couple of options, but you may find that using the MFG workspace and a post processor is appropriate for your workflow. Especially if you need the DXF for fabrication in the first place!

Take a look at this excellent Instructable: Exporting a .dxf File From Fusion 360 (for Laser, Waterjet) : 3 Steps - Instructables

I hope this is useful.

Hi,

1.

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local device  > attach it to the next post.

2. How did you export?
a: Sketch > right click > save as
b: the whole design > file export > DXF
