How to edit the font size for creating measurements on your 2D drawing?

Hello!

How do you edit the font size when creating dimensions for the 2D sketch? Just so I can make it look more professional.

Is there another Autodesk or AutoCad program that is better for doing this, 2D drawings with measurements from 3D designs? Just because I am going to have to send this to a machine shop after so it needs to look professional and clearly state which lines represent which dimension.

Or is there a better program overall for creating 3D designs for 3D printing and doing the 2D drawings all in one?

Any help or suggestions is very much appreciated!

Here is an example of what I am asking about:

Hi @Anonymous ,

The dimension text size varies based on the Text height settings in document settings. You can change the text height to adjust the dimension text height.

Also we are currently working on a project to provide more feasibility to change the dimension text and other elements like dimension arrow size based on the text height. This enhancements will be available in the Fusion very soon.

Thanks,

Ok great. Thanks for the info and notification of an update. It would also be helpful if you added these features as well:

1. When drawing lines, let the user specify the length and angle, same as when designing.

2. Let the user create construction / reference lines to show measurements that no longer have lines in the finished drawing but as your designing it, the lines will be there and would make it easier to use the measurements based on those lines.

3. Make the template editor better and create different types of attributes that allow the computer to auto fill as you proceed through your drawing (such as sheet # because if you delete that when editing your template, I cannot find a way to re-add it so that as you create more sheets it auto fills that part out to 2 of 4, 3 of 4, and 4 of 4, and so on...)

4. When moving text, images, or lines (etc...), give them a way to snap or align to the center of the box they are in.

In my limited experience with the drawing part of Fusion 360, these are just some things I noticed that would be handy if they could be optimized as suggested. If there are already solutions to these problems could you let me know please?

Also...Is there a better Autodesk or AutoCAD program that is better for creating 2D Drawings from 3D Designs for machining / sending to another company to create? Please let me know if there is.

Hi,

1. In the drawing environment, the parts created in design mode are displayed in views. These views are dependent and small result of an independent drawing tool.
2. sketches from the design area can be activated, e.g. to support dimensions, but then appear dashed.

3. you can export the drawing as DWG or DXF* and edit it e.g. in Autocad.

*License dependent

4. Take a look at the Roadmap.

Thanks for the info & Roadmap link! That Roadmap is incredibly helpful for knowing how good this program is going to be for the jobs I am doing!  Much appreciated!

I am having another issue with this Drawing Feature. For some reason on some designs when I go to place a Leader Note to define threads I click and make the arrow pointing at the threads, then type the thread designation, and then when I click off or click cancel on the option window the note and arrow disappear every time no matter where I place it. But on other designs where I have to do the same thing and define threads it works fine and stays. I tried saving, closing, and re-opening thinking it was a glitch but I still can't get it to stay.

#1. Is there a way to fix this or something I need to do different?
#2. Is there a better feature/tool to use to define threads?

I would really appreciate help with this! Thank you!
