Sure, just make a sketch and draw the line where you want, finish the sketch. Select split body or split surface and select the line as the splitting tool.

Yes @Anonymous  🙂 You can simply use Modify -> Split Body

It will open a modal window with two required inputs: Body to Split and Splitting tool

The line is the splitting tool obviously.

If you are not happy with the cutting direction, you will need to use the line and create a plane at an angle using the line and use the plane as a splitting tool instead 🙂 reply if you need that in screen shots otherwise I believe these will help

Split body takes about 3 minutes and fails.

You may be better to Plane cut the mesh body, in other software.

Might help....

This Split body as set out on the early photo does not completespbdyon.PNG

Need more detail if this is not what you mean.

It is common in fusion where the shape has high face count - such as after converting mesh to BREP - that splitting operations fail to compute or the software crashes. For demonstration purposes I accomplished splitting the body to 2 parts (not what you asked for) but this might give you an idea of how to do it. I can also do whatever you intended if you can clarify what are the " i just want to cut the small parts marked on red" what red? where? I can definitely get you where you need It would be helpful to have some annotation/explanation of what you'd want to cut/split out 🙂

Here are screenshots of accomplished task splitting the body into two parts - yet I used a rectangle from a sketch to cut away half of the body at a time - which means I had to make 2 copies of the original body. It is less likely the the cut will fail to compute ! 🙂

here is the file

see those 2 red lines, i want to split the body using those as reference, so i can print it, use a hinge, and the parts will conect in that exact place

No Problem! you can use extrude instead. I will try to make a screen cast - it is going to be very long since each extrusion takes for ever due to the number of faces - there are like ten different options to do it but I'll do one of them and share here including the file 🙂

Here you go @Anonymous  I attached the f3d file with the split bodies - unfortunately due to my computer's limited power I had to stop capturing history but you can still insert these to whatever design you need 🙂

also here is a link to a video of how I did it 🙂

One last thing @Anonymous I made some crazy exploration and turned the mesh model to Quad Mesh in Blender brought it back in and converted to BREP. It is still ridiculously heavy lol but it looks way smooth!

too bad that i couldnt see the link to download the one with that crazy quality, amazing job with extrude, how did you create the 2 bodies and allow the extrude to only affect 1?

THE VIDEO LINK JUST IN CASE

@Anonymous I added a video of the process did you manage to see it ? I couldn't screencast because it was getting the computer stuck so instead I did a regular screen recording 🙂 - I now also realize I could have recorded sound with a regular screen recording ! 🙂

I just made a sketch that represented what I wanted to remove and did it twice each time for the part I didn't need 🙂

You will see in the video! 🙂 if you accept my solution you can also mark the relevant comment as an accepted solution - it is not a must but helps with the flow of the forum 🙂

The smooth version took FOREVER to compute - it does look great but I am terrified trying to work with it!

i saw it great, thank you, is there a way to bend this leaf backside so it ends kind of flat, tried it with meshmixer and moving the face with q on fusion, but didnt work, any ideas? https://a360.co/3idTT8b

It drives me insane how a vast amount of fusion 360 features just never work. I've used this software for years and there's dozens of critical features that always have errors and are never possible no matter the object I'm working with. In like 5 years I've never been able to split a body with a line because the computation fails and I always have to make a rectangular prism just to get a face I can use as a splitting reference. It's the same for how pattern along path almost never works and there's so many other functions that fusion won't fix because all they do is load forever until the program crashes. I'm using a 1660 GTX and 32 gb of ram, it's not an issue with my PC. I wish I learned 3D modeling on another platform that wasn't so incredibly glitchy.
