how to cut an object along a path?

hey, I wanted to figure out how to shorten this piece a little bit but I couldnt just cut it strait down, because I didnt want to include some  of the holes in the action. The plan was to cut the object with this line, then shorten oneside while moving the other over into its place. I couldnt figure out how to cut it. if there is an easier way to shorten it though, I will do it that way. hopefully that made sense.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive > attach to post

here is the file. - I was trying to shorten it by 2.5mm

Accepted solution

The process is Split Body, use the Offset Face command to reduce one bodies length, Move other body 2.5 mm so it touches the other and then Combine.  Model is attached.
