How do you press pull a projected sketch?

I'm still relatively new to fusion and am working on modeling a hand for printing. I've never tried projecting sketches before but need to make an indent along one of the curved surfaces. When I go to extrude the sketch I can't seem to do so, is this an issue with how I generated the sketch? I've attached photos of the project as well as the files if that helps 🙂

There maybe be less complex ways to do this but here is my method.  You did not say how much of an indent, I did 1mm into the surface. You can adjust it, within reason, by modifying the surface offset indicated, note it is now -1mm.  To go deeper, make is a larger negative value, i.e. -2mm.  Model is attached.

Hi John,

Thanks so much that works great! Do you think you could explain it to me by any chance? I'm sure I will be repeating this editing technique later in the project.

Thanks,

Ben

Sure, in the Screencast I first of all clean up your original sketch which was giving you a very segmented 3D sketch.  Next I constrained this sketch because unconstrained sketches will give you unbelievable problems.  The rest is explained in the video.  The only tricky part is selecting the Offset Surface Patch to do the Loft cut but if you hold down you left mouse button, the selection menu will find it for you.  You have my model already but you should try it for yourself.
