How do you manage revision control in fusion?

Hi all,
We are a start-up that has been using Fusion and now we want to start implementing version control in a more meaningful way. But so far I cannot see a way to do this in Fusion they way we would like.
Up to this point we have been using the milestone system to indicate when parts are going up a revision and then manually inputting/updating the new revision in the appropriate place on our drawings (so far so good).
However when it comes time to export a BOM and do GA drawings we are stumped as to how implement revision control using fusion. There seems to be no way to get the BOM to reference the milestone (or any other parameter that could be used to control revision), even though there is a revision column on the BOM (it always remains blank - we cant work out what its trying to reference).
As for GA drawings, we want a copy of the BOM on these which references the part revision but the "parts list" function cant be edited to add a column for part revision (even manually, to input part revisions row by row).
So my question is, is there a way to do the above in fusion or do we need an extension? I have seen fusion manage, but it looks to be way too complicated when we would only be purchasing to fulfil this simple requirement.
For context I am coming from Solidworks where we would use the part properties window to create a custom field for "revision". Then use that as a reference for BOMs, GA BOM Tables, drawing title blocks...anything really. It was super easy and convenient. Is there any way to create a custom property in Fusion by any chance?
Any feedback or help would be massively appreciated, this forum has already been super helpful!
Many thanks,
Sam
