Hole Table Doesn't Work for Projected Views / Drafted Sides

I am working with an enclosure that has a flat top and drafted sides.

I have no problem generating a drill table for the flat surface / top. But fusion 360 won't acknowledge the drills on the side at all. I've confirmed in the Design view that they are drills and not extrudes and they are attached to the body that I'm generating a drawing for.

Hi @kinotoneaudio

For a hole table to work, it needs to be looking normal onto the holes. In your example, there is draft on the sides, and your views are regular projections, which means that the holes are at a slight angle.

Instead of a projected view (for the side views), I would use an Auxiliary view, which will allow you to create a view that is normal to the holes. With an Auxiliary view, you will be able to create a hole table.

Auxiliary views are available on the toolbar near to projected views (sending this from my phone, so I can’t share a screenshot).

That’s what I thought. Just couldn’t find any information anywhere about it.

I was able to resolve it another way - instead of creating drill holes that were normal to the drafted surfaces, I offset a plane from the origin and created drills that were normal to the plane. This way the projected views saw the drills as being normal.

I suppose that’s more realistic in my situation, as a CNC machine wouldn’t approach the drafted sides perpendicular, but normal to the plane.

Thanks for the response! I can see some benefits to doing it your way too.
