Hidden objects: can I make them unselectable?

The main reason I hide objects (bodies, components, sketches, etc) is that they are cluttering the workspace or aren't relevant for whatever action I'm currently trying to do. However, faces and profiles of components still seem to remain selectable, even though they are invisible. So you can't see the component or whatever, but if you mouse over the blank scene it still pops up.

Is there any way to disable this?

Hi @knifacat,

Can you create a Screencast documenting this? I saw someone else posted about this the other day too, and I cannot reproduce it. A hidden body should not be able to be highlighted just by hovering over the blank space in the modeling workspace.

Thanks,

I've just boot it all up again to try get a recording and it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore! It's been fairly consistent for me so I'll try grab one next time it happens.

It's been a while but I finally managed to capture what I mean. The lines that would be available for projection from the sketch plane are selectable even if the object they're coming from is hidden in this case.

Screencast will be displayed here after you click Post.

Here's the screencast (forum seems to be glitching out trying to edit the post with it... ?) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/51c29408-9f47-48d9-ae5a-cfa6cbdc984c

I'm having the same issue. Every single body remains selectable when hidden, making it impossible to click underneath it until you un-hide, then re-hide, the body. Everything has to be hidden and unhidden and rehidden every time. But if you interact with the body, like use it to combine/boolean subtract, it becomes fully selectable again, and I have to hide it again. Even when I make the body unselectable.
