Hallow out complex body

Hello, so i have this object. It has a specific complex for to teach people how to work with CMMs. I'm trying to 3d print it, but the object is really big, it will use up all of the plastic. So i decided to hollow out

Tried to use shell comand - PC just crashes. (probook with an i7)
Tried to convert it to surface then use thickness command - doesn't work and gives me a bunch of errors

Attaching the files

Thx in advance

Doesn't your printer software have a "Sparse Fill" and/or wall thickness setting?

That is what I use to save material.

I was able to shell both of these to 0.5.  What thickness were you trying to get?  And, when you say "PC just crashes", do you mean:

  1. the entire computer OS crashes?
  2. Fusion crashes (you get a crash report dialog)
  3. or Fusion just takes a long time, appears to be not working, and you kill the process?

If the answer is 3, then likely Fusion is not "crashing", but you are asking it to do a very complex operation, and if you let it go, it will finish.  Just because the OS reports an application is "not responding" does not mean that it is not functioning, it can just be very busy.

Hello, answering your question. The fusion just crashes, it doesn't freeze. I was able to hallow out one part on my home pc, but the second part will freeze the fusion.

I was trying to get something around 5 mm of thickness
