Getting back my data

All my data is lost. There are no files I can open except the  editable ones. After editing I was directed to a new project file that  was otherwise empty. In all fairness I should add that I made a couple of changes to my preferences that caused the mess I am in. I did not now that after so long I still am a newbie.

@jcamve Are you hating the 10 document limit? Before that can I ask what license of Fusion you have? Are you seeing the designs and not able to open them or when you say they are lost are you not even able to see those?

@jcamve For the personal license type you are allowed only 10 editable documents. IF you have an assembly that is referencing multiple documents, they count towards your 10 limit.

The file name that is referenced to as in another hub, is that your file and do you have it as part of your editable document?

I wrote my reply in the cell that does not speak english and has the habit of changing words from english to some language unknown to me. Sorry.

I have not exceeded de 10 editable file limit. I have only seven. Once I was going to accidentally violate it and was advised that this could no be done. As I was working with one such file on trying to save it I received a message telling me that my files were in another hub. That helps?. Thanks for the reply.

I could not say whether the file I was tryingto save was identifiable as being in other hub. This was an editable to which I have access along with other six that I was trying to save in my lot and got this notice, not reply.

@jcamve @This adds more clarity, thank you.
Few more questions, the file that you are receiving this message that it is in another hub, where is that file located? Is it in your hub? Does that file contain any other reference files within it? If possible can you please record a small video of the workflow you are using to see the issue?

The file I mention is one of the seven I can access. It is a stand alone file that has no reference of any kind to another.. Hiow can I make one such video?.

Generaly when I open Fusion after load conpletion I can see qa list of the folders I have opened. Clickingany one will open it and show itsn file contens .

No more. The opening screen appears to be addressed to a new comer showing a list of example applications and invites me to open a project.

Opening an  editable files box shows my six editable fles.

Thanks again.

@jcamve @Are you able to open/save the other six files without issue? It appears you have one file that is showing you that it is part of another hub?

For that one file can you export it as a Fusion file and report it as a new file and does that help ?

Of the seven editable files I have access to, I was able to change its status to writable only to one of them. I now hove only six editable files. I was able to open three more but they will not close and remain on onwhat appears to a writing state (A rotating circle).

@jcamve @Sorry I know this is a lot of back and forth but just to summarize,

You have seven document now.

1. How many are having problems?
2. Is the problem that when you try to save them you get a message that they are in a different hub?

It was not so easy to close any opened file. It would remain untouchable
and in what appeared to be a writing status.
Just before closing Fusión I noticed a dialog box offering to repair Fusion
but I could not do that as I was past the answering possibility. Hice can I
try to repair Fusion?.

@jcamve

1. Go to add/remove programs

2. select Fusion- modify

3. This will launch the fusion service utility

4. You can run repair from here

Reinstalled Fusion. No change in situation.
As it happens, I have a .tap copy each and every file in my folders. Can
they be of help at least to me?.

I managed to change status of one of the files to read only and it disappeared from the editables list. I now have only six.

The message telling me my files were in another hub popped up after a ,lot of finger pushing to have a file saved. As I told you, savings appear to occur between closing and reloading the system.

I happen to have a copy (.tap) of each and every file in a pen drive. Will these files save for anything if at least to me?.

Again thanks.

@jcamve I am not sure what a .tap file would do but here is another one to try before anything else. This will clear out all of your files from the "editable list" and you can start from scratch.

Follow what is called out in this thread: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-support/document-stuck-uploading/m-p/12928760/highlight/true#M...

Once you do this the editable list will become zero and you can start adding files to the list again.

My original root file was opened on November 17, 2022. This comes out of
the information shown in the caption files owned by me.
I am a hobbyst and retired, but I also am 92 and only 3 months away from
93.
I am not sure that if I were to start fresh I will complete the rebuilding
of my files.
I believe that I can load my files yo Freecad and save them in a format
compatible with Fusion. Still a lot but possibly manageable. Can you tell
me which format/s are friendly between the se two systems?.

@jcamve Let me clarify, when I said start fresh does not mean that you have to design from scratch.

What the steps will do is clear the "editable document list". So you can start adding to the list again. your files will remain unchanged.
