Generative design fails or gives inconclusive results

Good evening

I am currently trying to generate a design starting from a part that I already modeled in Inventor 2022 and imported in F360. I modified the model in order to preserve some of the geometry, added the obstacles and indicated a simplified starting form. I also added symmetry planes and all the required constraints and loads. The program tells me my setup is OK at first, but when trying to generate a result I get an error. The only thing Fusion 360 suggests me is contacting support. The outcome doesn't change with a coarse mesh. Before failing this study I tried a different approach, creating a part from scratch with just the preserved geometry and the obstacles, but the solutions were way too heavy and the process was stuck at 5% for hours, without being able to create a project from one of the suggestions.

I uploaded the file of the part I'm currently designing (see below), I kindly ask you to help me ASAP since I have an exam on Friday and I'm already quite behind schedule. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, have a great day

Hi Francesco,

The Symmetry plan is not supported yet for the Additive outcome.

For instance, if you select the Unrestricted option, you should be able to generate the outcome with the Symmetry planes.

Or you can remove the Symmetry option, generate the Additive outcomes, and edit them, to make them symmetrical.

Another suggestion is also to avoid the use a Synthesis too coarse, since you have created thin entities (2 mm) for the preserve geometry. Of course, the resolution takes longer with a finer Synthesis.

Hope this helps and all the best for the exam

Regards,

Alessandro
