Dear members of Fusion 360 Support:

I am working with a generative design and I am getting a message error telling me that Fusion 360 encountered a problem and failed to generate the outcome generation. ¿Could you please help me to identify what is the problem? Thank you so much for your attention.

The link to the file is: https://a360.co/2IwvcqO

Hi there,

I'm Pete from the Customer Advocacy Org within the Fusion portion of Autodesk. I could do with looking at the actual set up in generative before I can make any recommendations and I think the a360 viewer link has downloads turned off! Could I ask you to export the f3d file directly from Fusion so that I can have a look please? Would make it a lot easier and I can try and help more!

Many thanks,

Pete

Dear Peter: Thank you for your answer. I activated the download capabilities for the public link; also I have attached the file as you requested. I appreciate your help, thank you!

Hi again,

Just used that file and kicked it off in the same state you sent it to me and it seems to have worked. I turned the synthesis settings down to the coarsest available to allow for quicker solves so I could see the results/errors quicker. I've attached a couple of images to show the outcomes! May well just be that you can clone both studies and run the cloned study and it may kick start it!

Let me know if this works and if the results are what you expect. If I could ask to mark this as a solution if it works, and if not then feel free to continue this thread and I will try help.

Cheers,

Pete

Dear Peter:

Thanks again for your response. I tried to solve using the coarse mesh, and Fusion 360 successfully completed the generative study. I want to understand ¿why the mesh density was causing the study to fail? Thank you so much!

Glad we've got something working! I think the issue can sometimes be a time limit being reached before the solution can be worked on in the cloud. Subsequently, making the file a lot easier to solve will help that out and avoid that error. It can sometimes just get jammed because of that so you could try and add synthesis levels and see if it works if the outcomes aren't what you wanted. I think it's probably easier to just edit the models.

Thanks,

Pete
