Fusion360 Home Directory

Anonymous
Not applicable

We use Autocad Fusion360 locally on some of our school's computers. The home directory of Fusion360 (exe-files...) is Users/Administrator/.... Because pupils do not have access to that directory, I transferred the home directory to Users/Public/... which works fine except for the program updates. To get those I have to relocate Fusion360 to the original directory, get the update and go back to the public directory. (I also tried to tamper with readind/writing rights on  Users/Administrator; it did not work.)

Is there any way to let Fusion360 know its new home directory (ini-file, registry entry...)?

Hi @Anonymous,

Which version of the installer are you using? The streaming installer provided for per-user installation will install to /Users/, but you should also have access to an IT Admin installer that installs directly to C:/Program Files/. Please note that admin installs do not appear in Add or Remove Programs under Windows, and do not update automatically, as they are intended to be added/removed/updated remotely at the administrator's discretion.
